I clicked the Sayvio icon and nothing happened

Chrome does not let extensions run on its own pages — a new tab, chrome:// pages, or the Chrome Web Store. Open an ordinary website and click the icon there. A tab that was already open when you installed Sayvio needs reloading once before the icon works in it.

The extension keeps asking me to sign in

Click the Sayvio icon, choose Create an account or sign in, and sign in on the page that opens — starting from the extension is what lets it collect your sign-in. If it still asks, sign out on this website, then sign in again the same way.

It says it cannot use my microphone, camera or screen

Chrome asks once and remembers the answer. To change it, open chrome://settings/content, find Microphone or Camera, and allow Sayvio. On a Mac, recording the screen also needs Chrome switched on in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording (called Screen & System Audio Recording on newer versions of macOS); restart Chrome after changing it.

My recording stopped by itself

On the free plan, a recording that will go to the cloud stops at 5 minutes, and you are warned before it does. Chrome also stops a recording when the tab or window being recorded is closed, when you press Chrome's own Stop sharing bar, or when the computer runs very low on disk space. What was recorded up to that point is kept.

The upload failed

Your recording is still on your computer — nothing is lost. The editor tab that opened when you stopped has a Retry button; if it keeps failing, use Download there to save the file, and write to us with the support code shown below.

It says my cloud space is full

The free plan keeps 2 recordings in the cloud at a time. Delete one from your recordings page to make room, or save the new one to your computer instead. Free cloud recordings are deleted by themselves once 30 days go by without anyone watching them.

Where do my recordings go?

Uploaded recordings are on your recordings page, each with its share link. Recordings you save to your computer go to your Downloads folder, and never reach us.

How do I get the extension?

The install page walks through it, step by step.
